CRAB Hunting Expedition
If it's heart stopping, adrenaline pumping, pulse elevating activities you're after, then you're in the right place.
MACE Alumni, UAE Chapter conducted a thrilling and adrenaline elevating CRAB Hunting Expedition to Umm Al Quwain at the Flamingo Beach Resort at 1730hrs on Thursday, the 22nd of November 2007. The Expedition kicked off with light snacks, followed by a boat trip to the island wearing all the hunting gears and spears (Also the Safety Vest & accessories) hunting and picking up the crabs with the relish of prehistoric homo Sapiens. We started in groups of two forming 8 groups in total. Each group had their own flashlight and spears. Our Navigator cum Driver did hell of a job guiding us to the crabs, locating them and shouting us to spear it, if we were splitsecond late.
Horrors of Horrors, "the Anthappan" George Francis got the first one!! Even the laws of probability was proven wrong and we ended up catching lots of crabs and had tons of fun. After catching almost 100 crabs, we returned to our boat and proceeded to the hotel to have a steaming great buffet spread which included the caught crabs too.

KERA Sports Day
Inter Alumni Sports Meet - 2007 was held at The ETISALAT ACADEMY Dubai.
An Orange revolution swept throught the ETISALAT Academy last Friday at the KERA Annual Sports Day.Thanks to the wonderfully Attired MACEians in ORANGE colours, which were supplied by Gayathi Constructions (John Emmanuel--Our perpetual Cheerleader), the MACE Sportsmen stormed all the events and swept the Football Championships and were the runners up in the exciting Vadamvali event.
A Great display by our team..... Biji, Buji, Noby, Jude, Naveen, Ajay, Manesh, Ashir, Unni, Job, Eldose, Eby, Prince, Dinesh and the goal keepers sibi and Anson.
Biji's STRATEGY of rotating our players every 30 seconds paid off richely and that was the edge of our performance. While the other teams concentrated on the muscle power, we relied on STRATEGY, STRATEGY & STRATEGY.
Our Badminton team put up a spirited display and we featured in both the semi finals. It was a good team display by Jo, Mohammed, Anish & Siju.
Michael was our Star Athele featuring in the Shot put & 200 m sprint. Jaykrishnan also featured very strongly in 200 m & was forced to stop midway due to lack of SPIRIT but he nevertheless continued in a tremendous fashion and completed the race in a record shattering time of 60:14:23.
Our Basket Ball Team's performance was worth mentioning and will definitely be the team to watch out at the next KERA meet, Led by Anish, John, Naveen, Anson, Sibi, Jojo.............. (Anish.... Please fill up the other names !!) the Boys put up an exciting rabble rousing performance.
This time Our Cheerleading team was led by Hussain sir & M P Joseph Sir. The absence of Mohan Joseph was sorely felt from the trio.
Another Notable absence was of our SPIRITed Secretary Jaysuria who was on an official trip. This led to a severe and dangerously low level of SPIRIT among our stars & Cheerleaders!!
Davis led our cheerleading team in the Badminton, and was particularly harsh on the TKM team. Though he was chronically short on the SPIRIT, he managed to stay awake all the day.
The Office bearers of KERA demanded an A & B sample from Sibi for Dope testing. The officials were left embarrased when he revealed that he had already discharged his samples and requested them to collect the same next day at Sharjah!!
Other notable atheletes who stole the "Biriyani Eating Competetion" & the "Load the Plate as much as you can" were Yours Truly, Jomy, Binil, Binu S & Jaykrishnan.
Needless to say.... We won hands down!!
Job was our official photographer for the day & has updated photos in the mailing goup.
